Basic characteristics
1.Chemical composition: The chemical formula is Ag ₂ S, with silver having a+1 valence and sulfur having a -2 valence. It belongs to binary semiconductor materials.
2.Crystal structure: The common phase is the monoclinic system of β - Ag ₂ S (stable at room temperature), which can transform into the cubic phase of α - Ag ₂ S at high temperatures.
